24 May 2007The Costa Atlantica. note: all previous frontpage features can be found in the Magazine section.
This fantastic picture of the Costa Atlantica was taken by Fab Forumite Ray Goodfellow. The ship docked here with us on the 22nd May and was a very welcome and spectacular visitor. Ray got out of bed early to get down that long pier to capture its arrival in close detail. Dover continues to attract fantastic ships and next year, 2008, there are rumours of even more spectacular ships scheduled.Well done Ray with this shot..excellent! There are many ships due in this season so if any reader gets a gem send it to me PaulB on dover7@msn.com.
This recent picture above is from long time Fab Forumite ClaireB and it is a delight. There was Claire, trying to photograph the Costa Magica, when she was joined from on high by a winged dove, a beacon of heavenly light, a chariot of fire from ye gods...okay okay too much exageration from yours truly, it's essentially just a seagull but I wont tell if you dont! Lovely picture Claire, I love this one.
On May 17 this fantastic array of exotic Cruise Liners stayed at the port. What a sight they made! proving without doubt that Dover is one of
the big players in global Liner travel. To the left we see The Deutchland, in the centre the gynormous Star Princess, one of the very biggest liners afloat, and on the right hand side of the picture The Norwegian Dream, a regular caller.
In the foreground is the newly launched police patrol.
