We are back! I am delighted to have my frontpage back and all seems to be up and running and looking good. During the downtime, when we were off air completely, we were very happy to receive a magnificent cheque from Kent County Councillor Keith 'Keef' Sansum. The amount was for approximately £1350, so much thanks goes to Keef and KCC. At the point we received this cheque, this grant, we were down and almost out. Almost dead in fact. But thanks to Keef, this money greatly helped to bring us back from that horrid 'dead as a dodo' position. We got the oxygen of money in our lungs again and started to breathe.
Now we are here again. Bringing this entirely free service to anyone who wants to use it( but see rules ) It is of course particularly aimed at the people of Dover, or at those individuals further afield who have an attachment to Dover, whether they be anywhere in the UK or indeed overseas.
And Doverforum is back as a top dog success story, with 1,000 plus postings in the last 10 days alone. Yes in the last 10 days alone. No spin. It's there for all to see.
In the picture above, which was taken by Mary Graham, are:
Colette Boland, PR person who uses her skills to help the cause, Cllr Keith 'Keef' Sansum, the man bearing gifts, yours truly Paul Boland editor and owner of doverforum.com, managing to get a firm hold on the cheque and clearly not going to let go for luv nor money, and Barry Wadsworth-Smith the man who chases the low cost advertising. This picture or one similar to it, was seen in both local newspapers, The Dover Express and The Dover Mercury, and we were delighted with the coverage. Thanks guys! Will buy you all a drink... ah ermmm a small one, the next time I see you.The shot was taken in Blakes of Castle St, a favourite watering hole amongst the many Fab Forumites.
Also want to say a big thankyou to local whizz Chris Tutthill of Whyte Studio who is building this site, he is currently breaking new ground at the coalface as we speak, and doing a great job. I myself am still trying to get the hang of the gismos and the gadgetry.
