This event was cancelled today due to the bad weather..
This year’s Safety Awareness Day will take place along the Promenade by the Dover Sea Sports Centre on Bank Holiday Monday 9th April between 1100 and 1500.
Port of Dover Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service will be attending with the Fire Safety Team and a fire engine, the chip pan fire display unit, and other safety displays. Also present will be the RNLI, the Coastguard Cliff Rescue Unit, Port of London Authority River and Sea safety display unit. Kent Youth Services will be offering information on the new Dover Youth HQ and local youth will be offering face painting for young children on the day.
Also, the British Life Saving Association will be providing advice and displays on CPR and how to save the life of a baby and young children. A brass band, organised by Karen Griffiths from Dover Partnership against Crime will be entertaining the crowd, playing wartime memories and Crime Busters will also be in attendance.

The Amazing weekend event ( see our previous feature in All Recent Features , menu left), The Grand Shaft Fundraising Climb at Western Heights, was completed yesterday in fine style by the three girls Tess, Kelly, and Sam. They did it 77 times and raised tons of cash for the Western Heights Preservation Society. Full details and loads of pictures from all the guys in our forum..
