20 April 2009 DCAL Girls Finish their Year
in Fine Style.
On Thursday 9th April Miss Dover 2008; Loren Selby and her court performed their final official engagement attending a civic reception hosted by the
Mayor Cllr Diane Smallwood and the Mayoress Jean Farrell.
It gave the girls a chance to put on show the 52 awards they have gained over the 2008 season. Both the Mayor and Mayoress gave a small speech thanking the girls for all their hard work over the last year, and how proud Dover and the Town Council are of the work they have done.
Chairman Mandie Sehmbi presented the Mayor and Mayoress with medals as a small gift from the court.
She also said.....
" The 2008 court have been exceptional throughout their year in office. It has been an honour and a privilage to have the girls representing Dover. It truly has been a wonderful year. I hadn't realised just how many awards the girls had won. Over the last year we have attended more than 70 events promoting Dover, and each one has been a great experience for the girls."
