The Light Extravaganza at Dover Castle to celebrate the transformation of the Keep into the Great Tower was amazing and spectacular. Medieval crests were emblazoned on the Norman Keep, as you can see in the picture above, in a magical virtual lightshow which everyone really enjoyed on Saturday night. The inter-active exhibition in the Great Tower took us into a time capsule to the heady days of the Medieval Court of Henry II. All magnificently done, the rooms lavishly decorated with blazing fireplaces and subtle lighting which made the transformation a complete marvel .
In the marquee set in the grounds we enjoyed delicious wine and excellent food and here we met, amongst the happy throng, Mayor Sue Jones and her husband Dave, who were enjoying informal conversations with many, including Henry Kaczmarek and Svenja Rith from the Tourist Information Office based in Maison Dieu. A superb evening. A very big Well Done to the organisers. So, time indeed for another visit to Dover Castle to take in all the latest changes, all guaranteed to keep the visitor stimulated for years to come.
