Another trip to Turners models in London Rd! This is Tamiya's Universal Carrier Mk2 Reconnaissance vehicle. It cost just £12.00, and contains over 115 parts on 5 sprues, it has five crew figures (3 europe, 2 western desert) and decals to mark it up as 1 of 4 units, I chose to show the carrier in France as used by the 2nd Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry, 185th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. Painting was done as the build went on, as did the weathering. The final finished model will go onto a diorama base with other figures, the base will feature as a thread on it's own, as will the final complete model, but that will be in a few weeks time!
The Carrier Mk2, often refered to as a Brengun Carrier, was introduced in 1942 and over 100,000 were built. The model was brush painted useing 15 different Tamiya acrylics and 8 different brushes! I will post more as and when I have a base to share.
