    I am also sure that it is the Prince Albert in Biggin Street, having lived very near for years. The little shops on the left of the picture were very quaint, and it is a great pity that they could not have been updated and continued to operate. After all many shops in Canterbury are very old but operate well in the modern day. The block that replaced them is so ugly. I remember that there was the coal office, and a little baker's where the bread was superb. The rebuilt Salutation was a bit like a public toilet inside and did not last for many years.
