Poor Kev. A little deluded, thinking he should have been consulted before the staff!
Delusions of grandeur by a local tin pot politician.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Whilst I was Leader & the last time Pfizer announced the major redundancy announcement, I was consulted ( not that it made any difference) as a matter of courtesy. An American PR expert was imported to deal with the process. They also followed up with more constructive meetings to follow up the ongoing processes.
The MP’s for Dover & South Thanet with KCC were on also involved.
The PM at the time was David Cameron & both he & George Osborne were heavily involved.
A support package was put together Pfizer putting up finance & a national designation for the site was announced giving support for employment initiatives.
Without going into the designations & support we now have Discovery Park with a mixed employment mix.
Don't worry now that we have Thanet Parkway lots of companies will come and relocate to East Kent and all those new build houses will be full of happy employed workers
