This month`s Royal Geographical Society issue is pictured above, with the main theme concerning human population growth. I`ve never been one for statistics, especially far future one`s, but one is surely right in this case, that the human population will reach 9 billion by 2050! That`s 2 billion more than at present. The scene is a theme park in Tokyo, but it could be any other place in the world. When you read of elephant`s, deer, seal`s and numerous other animal`s being culled on this planet because they`re taking our space, does it make you proud to be human? And what if some very advanced intelligent being`s arrived here, and viewed us the same way as we view other animal`s on this planet? Would we expect mercy if they decided to share this planet, but started culling some of us first to give them space? And just another point concerning other thread`s on the forum, if one of those pictured above was a child killer, would we really care if they were taken out and executed? Like it or not, we`re a selfish species, and that`s how we got to where we are now, but does anyone on here have any vision`s of what the future may be for us all, or what they`d like to see?
