As some of you may have realised I have been away for the weekend, ( thank god for that some of you may say )
I went to see my old regiment being amalgamated into one new Regiment and being presented with new colours.

The Colours and standards are a very complicated buisness so I wont go into it ( you'd get bored ).
The Yorkshire Regiment was made up from the three existing regiments, The Prince of Wales Own Yorkshie Regiment, The Green Howards and The duke of Wellington's Regiment.

The new regiment has kept a piece of each uniform to coincide with the new one, the new Cap Badge is a modified Duke Of wellingtons, The Collar Dogs are the Old PWO Cap Badge and the uniform is that of the Green Howards.

Any way just to give you some visual effects I'll give you some photos.

Me and My old man, Dad being ex 9th Lancers I had to take him as a guest.

Prince Andrew inspecting the guard. notice the cap badge and collar dogs.

I have more if you would like to see them. The march through York was very sentimental and the crowds even more so.
The dedication at York Minster was reallllly unbeleivable. and the new colours are a sight to behold in their full glory.

Ian... Whacked out and ready for bed, up at 05-30, oh bugger
