    Strictly speaking, Brian, window tax was introduced in 1696 before the first official Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole in 1721, so no political party can be blamed for it. You'll have to blame William III who was on the throne at the time, so it's a Royalist tax after all that; it's still Gordon Brown's fault, though. Or Tony Bliar's.
