Sue and I decieded to try the Kittiwake on Sunday evening. It would seem the staff are still in training mode to a certain degree. While it doesn't bother me particularly, I was quite surprised to see various members of staff taking up customer space at tables when their shift finished. I would have thought that after spending eight or more hours working there that they would want to escape and go home! I'm not entirely sure it gives a good impression.
That said, the menu seems fairly comprehensive though similar to other such establishments in the area, the food was hot and served in a timely fashion. I will probably go there again.
Like Roger I too would like to make more use of the independent resturants - La Scala particularly as both Sue and I enjoy Italian food - but it's difficult to get in there without booking up a week or more in advance! We haven't tried The Allotment yet - it's on the "to do" list!
