A20 Resurfacing
- 26 March 2008 10:04767The following is the anticipated scario for the coming week;
Daytime 0500 -2000 Lane 2 (Outside) closures in both directions - Eastbound York Street roundabout to Eastern Docks - Westbound Eastern Docks to Woolcomber Street. Woolcomber Street junction closed.
Nightime 2000-0500 Complete road closure Westbound Eastern Docks to York Street roundabout with Diversion 'A' in place (A2, Whitfield Hill, Barton Road, Maison Dieu Road, Castle Street). Woolcomber Street, Russell Street & Wellesley Road junctions closed.
However, things could change at anytime.

The Marine Parade road closure near the Premier Inn is rearranging this junction and constructing another junction for the new Docks Exit Road - different contractors. - 26 March 2008 10:13768Yes am looking right now at widespread cone use in both directions as Nigel says. We need to keep an eye on their progress and report any problems to 08457 504030 where you can speak with a human being.
This work needs to be completed by the end of June as scheduled and Folkestone Road not being used as a diversion route as the next phase of the regeneration of the Dover Priory Station area, including part of Folkestone Road, is due to commence in July for 9 to 10 months.
In turn the Folkestone Road/Dover Priory Station work needs to finish on time due to there being a major international three day weekend event being arrangeed in July 2009.
All good stuff for Dover but we need to get thise road works out of the way.

sounds like show jumping, i need to know in order to get my jodhpurs sorted. - 30 March 2008 19:42905Nigel its been lovely at work over the last 2 days,as my ticket office has been closed while they lay the new floor in the waiting room/sorry not allowed to call it that anymore,because we have another waiting room/it is now called the Ticket Hall,shame the Ticket office is still not finished,still the big boss who came down 3 months ago to see all the problems we were having is coming back again,apart from the water which has stopped coming in from the roof (fixed at least for a while by Mandi's better half),everything else is as it was 3 months ago.If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

- 31 March 2008 08:28911Yes John, apparently your employers used their usual contractors who appear to have had some problems this time - BUT, the next phase is being dealt with through KCC Regeneration.
I've seen the plans and the materials to be used - pity it has to wait until after the A20 works before it can start - the reason why we need to keep pressing the HA and Interroute to get their works done to time.
Right on Paul - details will be announced in due course but we may still need Howard in his horsy gear
