Today i visited a packed age concern morning, so much going on, realy well organised.
talking to the volunteers/manager(and old ken, sorry ken had to say that lol)
the KCC are to cut the funding.
this is a vital service to the more senior citizens, and this is a tragic move,
for some of these senior people that attend it's there lif blood
i hope kcc think again

sorry to hear that keith, not surprised though even wccp do not have their minibus anymore to ferry volunteers to and from work sites.
did ken say how it was likely to affect the running of the place?
i hope it does not mean job losses as they all seem very busy when i drop in, not much scope for cutbacks there.

So you'd support redirecting the aid budget to the needy of the UK then Keith?

Thank s Keith for bringing the centre's funding problem to prominence. The funding is secure until 2014 and then it does apparently become rather vague. Karen would very much like all councillors wether they are Town, District or County to visit and see the work of the centre as Keith and Howard do on a regular basis.
To see the many services provided as illiustrated and promoted by the Forum in the past is all that Karen asks of our councillors.

Ken;
it was packed and has to be a good thing for the seniors a vital service for many of them im sure.
im aware of at least 2 cases where this centre is the only lifeline to 2 individuals
who don't get a meal anywhere else and depend on the centre.
im sure the centre can through ken highlight many of the issues
but i do urge all cllrs able to make a difference from all political parties to at least call in.
