Air passenger tax
- 21 March 2012 16:30160674still the budget i know but thought i would raise this seperately as the aviation industry had lobbied strongly against planned rises and i was expecting them to have been successful.
looks like more stay-cations for hard pressed families.

The cat is none too happy after I chased it furiously with a fork and I've spent the last two hours online trying to learn about growing my own tobacco plants.
As far as this aviation tax is concerned I can't say I'm really that surprised. It was inevitable really. When you have a Eton educated hippie in charge of the country and his coalition partners are one step removed from the Socialist workers party what did we really expect? It has to be said, however, it's no more than people deserve. If they rely on the BBC (most do you know) for their information regarding issues such as climate change and end up believing it then they no longer have the right to complain about any supposed green taxes on their flights.
What they don't realise though is that there is no commitment to put these levies on anything to deal with the climate change fraud. Every single penny raised will go into the treasury to pay for government expenditure.
Speaking of airport duties you may well have heard that China, Russia and India have reacted very badly to the EU's latest carbon levies on flights over Europe. China has blocked a massive multi-billion euro contract to supply them with passenger jets made in Europe. Ha ha ha ha ha and that's just for starters.
Like I say, vote blue and get green and red.
Scrap the climate change act. - 21 March 2012 18:49160707funny you should mention a cat and a tobacco plant philip, when i first got married back in victorian times we were given a tobacco plant as a house warming present.
the kitten we had promptly ate it down to just a stump, a few months later the plant recovered and the cat done exactly the same again despite showing no interest in any other plants.

See what happens when the likes of greenpeace and wwf get involved with anything - they ruin it for us all. So billions down the pan in order that a group of deluded tree huggers get their way and corporations on the gravy train can enrich themselves on the proceeds of stupid ideas.
The other rather odd thing in todays budget is that Osbourne has committed billions in order to extract more oil and gas from the north sea wells.
Well excuse me for being stupid but I thought that the toryhippies were intent on weaning the UK off fossil fuels not do their best to suck out even more. This while telling us that wind farms are a good thing and will save the planet. I'm seriously concerned about the government's mental well being.
They make as much sense as a morning phone-in show on radio Kent. Lots of politically correct babble spoken by the presenters to deluded listeners insisting the world gets to hear their bizarre rantings.
It's enough to turn a man to drink and tobacco but Howard's cat seems to have gotten there first.
