I had to get a haircut this morning,Alan himself has retired & young chap called pete now runs it all,he has had new signs made & was telling me his plans for the shop the front window is going to be frosted ,paint the front of the shop,have the pathway dug up a relayed at the moment it is very dangerous to walk on he is also paint up inside the shop & change things around. he is such a kind chap I am very much disabled i can not keep my balance & can not walk very well but pete always makes sure,he helps me get down the couple steps & helps me to get in to my mobility scooter

used to go to school with alan, must be 68 by now. don't blame him retiring.

Hi.
Alans Barbers Shop is run by Paul, who would have been the person who you spoke with regarding the shop front and all its changes.
Peter is his brother who doesn't work there anymore.
Paul is a excellent barber. Takes alot of pride in his work and how he wants the shop to be perceived too.
Anyone and everyone is welcome. Friendly atmosphere and a honest quality worker. He is always happy to assist where needs be.

Charmaines was originaly in Castle street in a basement,i think below the taxi office that was there,would have been in the 1970s early 80s,i think it was run by John Charmaine?,very good hairdressers in its day.
