23:3865417A few years ago I was asked for our Christmas menu in early May. I laughed out loud and never saw the customer again.

06:3665425A number of the larger hotels and restaurants already have their Christmas Party, lunch menus, Christmas packages etc. out and published.
Office and other sorts of parties (just friends) are big business leading up to and including Christmas and if you want to go to your favourite place, book early.
I must be honest, I think May is a bit early and possible August, but the time will pass very quickly and before you know it, it's New Years Eve - where shall we go this year ??
If you've had to be careeful during the year, you'll want to enjoy Christmas with friends - won't you ?

I agree that some popular venues are booked well in advance....they are over in Jersey....and office workers need time to get their leave and cash sorted for the big night out. Smaller venues however don't normally start advertising until October...God doesn't time fly...it used to be years between Father Christmas visiting now it only seems like a few months.....
Love to Jean hope she feels better.

06:5265428And those months seem to be getting shorter don't they ?
Jean is much better Marek, thanks for your good wishes.
Have a good weekend; the weather has started off very wet for the Regatta - hope it dries up soon, but it's not a good forecast.
Parts of Deal got flooded last night - it was on the local TV news.
When is the Battle of the Flowers ? late August wasn't it ? Always used to have some fantastic floral displays.

We went to the Battle of Flowers on Thursday and last night was the Moonlight Parade. We have some photos that the girls took so hopefully I'll post them tomorrow. I have just taken Marites to work but she is off tomorrow so will do the necessary dowwnloading...I'm useless at that sort of thing. It was heaving on both days. Admission was £5 per adult and free for kids. There were other grand seats at £72 including food etc but that was a bit rich for my taste...
Sorry to hear about the floods..

11:2465466don't forget that office groups usually start paying into the christmas party fund on a weekly or monthly basis many months before yuletide/winterval/christmas.
they are the ones that book a venue far in advance, they need to get the menu very early so that they know how much to pay in.
