I am probably missing some of these good stories, as you say, as I stopped buying the local papers some time ago because of their bias and uninteresting or unappealing presentation. It is good to learn that some local issues are being flagged up - I know from my own experience that some of the local issues, around the hospital closure for example, were not thought interesting enough by local "papers" a long time ago in the beginning , and I remember wondering why that was, at the time, given the genuine local appeal and the bank of information and evidence there was. I am also aware of some local news items that have not been in the public interest and have been merely prurient but have been run anyway - I do not, personally, see that as fine journalism. However, if there is one available I will probably take another look and see if there have been improvements - I am always happy to be wrong about poor quality.
