    Hi All,

In response to the comments above and knowing how Carnival Threads of any kind tend to escalate out of control.

I ask you to bear in mind the following:

    1. All the girls chose their own outfits.
    2. The Dover Girls with the exception of one (adult) lady wore thick black lycra
    tights under their Santa suits.
    3. The Junior Girls wore thick red woolly tights with shorts over the top.
    4. All the Dover Girls were provided with wide woollen wraps which completely covered their shoulders and was pinned at the front. (no low necklines).
    5. I cannot comment on Fake Tan and / or Make Up however as this is personal to each girl, it is most certainly not requested or required of them.

In addition, the aim of the girls being in town was to raise funds to ensure that Dover has a bigger and better Carnival in 2011.

The Deal girls came to support Dover and the girls worked extremely hard collecting over £300 on Saturday to add to the £500 they raised at a sponsored walk the previous week. This is a fantastic start and their enthusiasm and professionalism should be praised.

I will of course forward your comments to the Committee as the new Dover Town Carnival Committee are determined to see that Dover Town Carnival and The Court of Dover adhere to all Child Protection Policies and are currently applying for affiliation with Kent Youth.

I hope this helps to explain a little, I hope that you can wish the girls well as fundraising for a Carnival is a big ask of so few court members.

If anyone wants to know anything more, please do not hesitate to email me.

    Thanks
    Michelle (aka Sheli)
