ASDA have announced that they are acquiring Netto's 193 UK stores. They will be re-branded ASDA by Summer 2011 and will be retained as a new "smaller store" format. An interesting development for Dover with Netto being located so close to Morrisons. You couldn't make it up!

Oh good, another supermarket. Just what we need.

Possibly the real reason they held back then pulled out?
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

not another supermarket, just a renaming ceremony.
Chris, I suspect you've hit the nail on the head.

Please can we have an eating place one side and an optician the other.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

No Colin. A pound shop on one side and a charity shop the other. Dover is Dover, after all.

Colette that would be great. I`ve always loved all sorts of sausages, and I believe if a shop opened who specialised strictly in them, they`d be on a winner.

Andy, Dover does even better in real life with juxtaposition of trades.
On the opposite side of the road to J D Wetherspoons, down towards the Market Square, you will find a betting shop, a pound shop and a pawn shop next door to each other.
I just noticed it this afternoon whilst scurrying from a meeting with DHB to the safety of my first class carriage at Dover Priory.
Why IDS had to go all the way to Easterhouse, Jocksville before writing Breakdown Britain I really don't know, when he could have done it on a day return from Charing Cross!

Bob
Maybe IDS considered Jocksville a better phronlistery than an overcrowded smelly rail carriage.
Glad to read you are travelling First Class now that the riff raff freeloaders have been served an asbo by the government.

Ah Bob, the magic phrase was St Pancras where the 395's go. 375's trundle in first and dignified style to CX and the Vic.
I think we have time shifted from another parallel.
Bring back the comfy seats on SUB's, but not the HAP's.

First class tickets for the speedy train with no first class seats, can also be used on the cattle class trains which do have first class seats. The customer makes the choice. Simples.
OOH do love asdas, took Mark over to the folkestone store the other day and all i heard was moaning so at least in dover i will save on the bus fare
