Pubs are subject to stringent licensing laws. Serving people that are already drunk or in the opinion of the licensee have had too much already can be subject to a license review. This can lead to the pub having to close earlier or suspension of the premises licenses for a specified period. Such notice has to be displayed in the pub, where it can be read by the public and the police.
It surely with all the CCTV in the town not too difficult to establish which premises are responsible, or even ask the drunk where he has come from.
The vandalism late at night must cost the public a fortune, the public know themselves that there is little point in reporting the crime because at the end of the day nothing is going to be done.
It is sad to say that should the law be enforced many of our town centre pubs would at the very least be closing early.
