  Really Ross, Bridge Street does indeed have a bridge. It's right next to Dover's own wilderness and wildlife santuary, i.e. the River Dour at Charlton Green. You refer to New Bridge.
  
  By the way, When the new police hq was built in Essex a poll was held to name the road leading to it, Letsby Avenue was the clear favourite. It was eventually renamed however, I can't think why!
