It was reported on the radio yesterday that the fire at that the Cliffe Court Hotel, East Cliff was started by an arsonist.Residents had to be rescued but luckily no-one was badly hurt.
What were the results of the investigations into the fire at the old church building at the junction of Ladywell and the fire at the old college on Folkestone Rd? At one time they thought to have been the actions of an arsonist.

As far as i know the church on the high street was an accident caused by one of the builders welding some pipes and igniting flammable materials in the roof void.

Yes, I believe that's true Ross; I understand that it was (young) arsonists who set Westmount alight.
I didn't even know about the Cliff Court fire until I read Marek's posting. Is that the "Pink Palace" on the corner.

Thanks Brian - I thought the Dover Harbour Hotel (voted the worst Hotel in Britain a few years ago) was next to the Pink Palace
