Working on the theory that a tanker on average tanker holds 30000 litres, in Dover that would be worth £31770 and in Canterbury £30570. So in that theory it costs £1200 to get from Canterbury to Dover and back. £1200 will buy 249 gallons of fuel at Dover prices and with the round trip being 34 miles then the lorry must have a worse fuel economy that 7.34 gallons per mile in order not to lose any profit
