Petition to: Bring Back Croc (BBC)
The fans of Croc are outraged at the Environment Agency. Croc who was in charge of the River Dour clean-ups, having brought the river back to life. He had stuck through the rubbish and weeds through it's most troubled periods. This petition is a sign to the EA that the people of Dover think there is only one man capable and deserving of doing the job, and they have just made the biggest mistake in the rivers long history. Reinstate the Croc! A true gentlemen, at a time when they are hard to come by.
Please sign this.

Nice try Stewart.
By the number of readers and the responses, today being Saturday I took my neoprene waders down to the bottom of the garden and burnt them.
Any more enquiries from freinds or the public.......don't ask me go to the people responsible. take it from there.
Croc has gone forever.

Ian, I read the posting. I didn't respond because the sad fact is that it's a case of the proverbial head and brick wall.
It's always the same, a quango takes over and buggers it up. Things will never change.
Don't despair.

Ian - people know you are frustrated to hell about what the EA have allowed the river to become; we all are disgusted by it too.
I have written to many people about the river and taking proper responsibility for it; I have also said about all the millions of pounds being spent on Dover's regeneration and yet we still have a floating tip running through the centre of Town - at least from Barton Path down to the sea.
As Terry has succinctly put it - head and wall.
River-side walks, my a**e !! why show-case a tip ?

It's a crying shame looking at the state of the river sometimes, maybe the plan for the Dour will be along the same lines as the Fleet, ie it will eventually turn into an open sewer outlet and it will be filled in.

Save us all a problem.
Stick the Dour in a concrete tube and fill it in, we will then have a 5 mile walk and cycle path where all dog walkers can let their muts c**p their hearts out and a police car can patrol 24-7, get a street sweeper in twice a day. end of story.
We can't go on like this.

you have given scant consideration to the alfresco drinking classes.
if there is no river, where would they lob their empty cans?

Due to the amount of weed in the river and the ( flash ) points, the river is running far too fast in certain areas along Barton path and if a toddler fell in they would be washed away. It's getting very dangerous.
I plan to crop ( top ) ( cream ) depending where you come from, certain parts of Barton path before we have an accident of the worst sort and bugger the Environment agency.
The cans and bottles are getting ugly, building up on top of it with all of the rest of the crap.
This is a one off. No one else gives a s**t......... but I do!
Anybody want to help?????

be careful ian, if an accident happened to anyone you may be for the high jump.
environment agency run the show, and we live in a very litigious society.

I think there'll only be grown-ups going in the river Howard and none of them are litigious people, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Bern, david and Roger, thank you very much.
How does Sunday morning sound? 10-30 at the bottom of Limes road.
certain parts are above knee deep now and I can't supply waders any more.
Don't forget it's a one off, we could get locked away for a zillion years or worse.

For your information the first official WCCP Dour clean this year is on the Tuesday 28th April. I expect Barton Path will be on the schedule.

would it not be better to do things under the WCCP umbrella?

So we wait forever for official then Howard, THIS IS what Dover does WAIT......
The WCCP can only touch the rubbish Howard and not the weeds, The EA touch the weeds and not the rubbish AND THAT IS OFFICIAL. two groups doing two seperate things.
when was the last time anyone saw someone from the EA???????The WCCP turn up once a month midweek and do a very good job. BUT THEY ARE NOT OFFICIAL.
Stuff the umbrella.
Bern and Dave, are you still up for it? that is if you want help on Saturday Dave.
