Yesterday afternoon we went to see my beautiful grandson in Ashford. It was such a lovely sunny day and we had a great day playing with him in the garden and then having tea on the patio - really relaxing. We left at about 7.30pm and as we drove down the final part of the M20 where you can see the channel it was magical. The coast of France was so clear and there were loads of ships out there, ferries, coasters, tankers and a few small craft too. We went and sat up at the Western Heights carpark on Military Hill to look at the view where others had the same idea. After about an hour we set off home, stopping at our favourite fish n chip shop at Buckland bridge and arrived home just in time to watch my favourite chef, Marco Pierre White, in Hells kitchen. I have to say that was one of the best days I've had for a while now and I'm so glad I live in Dover.
