  Does anyone know what on earth that HUGE bang / explosion sound was this evening approx 7pm? It was massive - nobody in Dover could have possibly missed it?

  Evidently an item of unexploded ordenance was found on the western heights, a bomb disposal squad did a controlled explosion on it.

  Only presuming that,s what it was, i can,t find anything on any local news.The odd hand grenade is quite often found around the heights, I have found a couple myself over the years. I do believe the explosion was in the moat.

  Surely as German property, it should have been returned. That recent Lancaster here could have dropped it off!
