Apparently, LOCOG has gone into voluntary liquidation and there would be "significant financial, maintenance and management issues" if the screen was kept.
I didn't object to it being there, but, as Simon quite rightly pointed out, had local content been streamed it would have served Dover's purpose much better.
Maybe it'll end up on Watty's living room wall....
