    A Chaffinch thanks guys - and stupid me. How could I get that wrong - a bit embarrassing when you have three nature pages! I think I'll stick to deep sea squid in future, I'm better at identifying those than common garden birds.

    Are you implying one of my pics is indeed the elusive Night Heron Ian? That would be an excellent spot if true.

    I bought an acoustic bat detector and a moth trap ready for the summer, so I hope to see and hear some interesting stuff...
