    I read or saw somewhere that the Moon is moving away from Earth at about a metre a year.Apparently its measured by aligning two receivers ,one on earth and one on the Moon and then sending a laser signal and timing its return.Millions of years ago the Moon would have appeared much larger when viewed from here and would have had a greater effect on Earths climate.

    Told my wife your revelation of a blue moon...she said that it was obviously in sync with me offering to do the ironing...cheeky madam
