Good one Howard it was made of flour and yeast,I worked for Gillberts in the late 1960s first job after my army days and nearly my last one with my meeting up with the Golden Arrow.
. It was on a cold a winter morning very dark and alot of flog about ,well I was crossing over the raiway track to get to the boats well i came off the road where it goes over the track and my lorry wheels got went down into the stone which was each side of the track and I could not get off, wheels just keep going round and round but not moving the lorry, just then the Gold Arrow came towards me along the track, luck would have it they stoped it before it hit me ,I was still inside at the time.they had to get a big crane to lift me off and all this took about two hours or more ,they would not lift till it was day light must say not one of my better days, when I phone the office to tell them why I was running late they were not very happy about it all.
