Rick I have something to add re bricks without holes. Bricks without holes are vital for lightweight structures. So as a result, are not to be used in lightweight coastal structures that are prone to high winds. So if you were constructing a brick sh*thouse in a coastal area and you needed privacy, as is the norm with such structures, it would be best to go for the full solid brick variety. Otherwise doing your natural ablutions on windy days could in time lead to embarassment. The structure would over time weaken with the undue strain, and eventually blow away around you, which could happen while carryin out what comes naturally. Most embarassing.
So when building outhouses of such a nature, I would really recommend the solid brick. However in some cases it might be desirable, should say a person's ill humoured mother-in-law require a small cottage on the windswept downs, then the lightweight brick might be the best option!
