The trend is to reduce, merge, and streamline. This because for military 'think tanks' and policy-makers 'new technologies' = easy, non-conventional wars requiring fewer personnel. Their Ukraine project proved them wrong.

As a consequence, despite public fist-pumping and 'we will spend gazillion of gdp on defence' PR, they are so far behind the countries they've made their 'enemies' (in terms of technology, industrial capacity, and experience) they may never catch up.

What's more, I think you'll see the US gradually wash its hands of Europe (after all, Russia, predictably, won that one long ago, and will dictate terms, however the US/UK/EU politicians sell it), so you may see a change if policy-makers abandon their fantasies.

But it could be a while before you see the Buffs again, VM.
