On a slightly more serious note; what we get locally isn't always British weather. We seem to have a bit of a micro-climate down in this corner with more than a little influence from across the Channel. The effects seem to cover a relatively small area from around Ramsgate to the Romney Marsh and it's for this reason that I tend to look to the Shipping Forecast to find out what the day's weather is likely to bring - and it often differs from the local land-lubber's forecast.
King Canute tried, and failed, to direct the weather so what hope has some muppet in Brussels got!
I'll stop now as I can almost hear the RISING TIDE of protest and the GALES of laughter!
