I've just had an email from Lynn Steward, Customer Services Development Librarian, about an open day at Buckland Community Centre, Roosevelt Road, on 8 May (10.00-3.00).

They'd love to hear memories and share photos from people's lives in Buckland, and will be bringing along local maps and log books. English Heritage are to bring mediaeval costumes to try, and there's an Anglo-Saxon jewlerry workshop. Traditional games led by staff from the local children's centre, and, I hear, pies and cakes to buy. The mobile library will be there also.

Sounds good! It's free entry and all are welcome. Contact Dover Library for more information - 01304 204241
