19:168801Gadzooks..can this be true?
Is our favourite bespectacled singing guitar playing forumite hanging up his plectrum for good?
Or is it the nasty Joker playing one of his evil games?
Rumours abound that BuddyG has cancelled his Festive appearance at Churchills Hotel.Yikes ..kapow
Your caped crusader will out the truth.C'mon Robin to the Batmobile.
Tune in for Buddys response.

21:208808Hi there Marek and Howard an all other interested parties....
Bang! yes it's true to a point.
Pow! I have had to cancel my appearances for the forseeable future.
Zap! No planes involved or rumours of disappearing with Roger (wilco and out).
Seriously tho........
I am bowing out for a while to care full-time for my wife who is suffering from a rare Neurological disorder which is causing her to lose feeling in her feet and hands, it appears to be irreversible and very debilitating.
I hope that with treatment (after further tests) that she will stabalise / recover, but the prognosis is grim.
Many apologies to all...
Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........

08:388826Hi Buddy
It is a real shame - on both counts: Iris's health is of prime importance of course and it's good that you will be there for her. I do hope there is a cure and that she can stabilise, or better still, recover fully.
The other side, is the pleasure you give to so many people who come along to the venues and see and hear you sing the great Buddy Holly songs.
I know that when Jean and I have been to a venue where you're playing, I can sing along (is that called singing ? Jean asks) to every song you do - I love it.
The other bit is your tribute singing career and the income that can be derived from it. You must/do get an awful lot of pleasure from seeing so many people enjoy what you do.
If you can restart before you get too old (Buddy was only 22 when killed in that plane crash - as of course I know you know), please do - for all our sakes.
Roger

14:528840Thank you all for your kind words here on the Forum, am keeping my fingers crossed for her speedy recovery and my return to entertaining.
Was a boyhood dream of mine to be able to sing live on stage and it has been a source of personal pride and gratification to realise it after so many wasted years toiling in London offices for others both on days and nights (which I do not miss at all).
Particularly thrilled to appear at the CAMRA beer festival live on stage in the Town Hall. For to be there singing infront of the great pipe organ I felt much as the great Buddy himself must have when appearing in Liverpool before a similar backdrop with the young Lennon in the audience picking up hints for his own band.
Will keep you posted.....
