    What is staggering is the cost per passenger on some of those routes. There must be a lot of fresh air carried around at taxpayers' expense! It will be interesting to see how many journeys get registered as commercial. Many small operators must be worried - Regent, for example, have a huge amount of KCC work, much of which is threatened. The demise of Poynters in August shows what can happen where a firm relies on these contracts.
