I see on the BBC local lunchtime news calls have gone out for Nigel Farage to step down. The calls are coming from his own colleagues. UKIP had a poorish showing at the recent elections and made no ground whatsoever..in fact I think they actually lost ground. This was a disappointing situation for them as Nigel F is only back in the leadership job a relatively short while, but a great rallying at the polls was expected...a new gusto after the flatlining of Lord Pearson.
Instead..nothing. No gusto.
Nigel is a clean cut fellow, a personable chap of sorts but not everyones cup of tea ( not after the Belgian episode), with plenty to say on every topic under the sun...but almost every statement gets rounded off with the same punchline re exiting the EU. Thats the one note samba! If Nigel is talking about the weather he will introduce pulling out of the EU into the chatter. People are switching off hearing the same thing ad nauseum. It just highlights the fact that they are a party with a single philosphy and with nothing else to offer in general political terms.
Whatever anyway...his cohorts are smouldering and plotting in the background.
