    that is right turkey is a modern secular state, even gave votes to women back in the 1920's.

    99% muslim but all religions are accepted as equal, everyone over the age of 18 gets the vote, they have been members of nato since 1952.

    most importantly they are the buffer zone between the lunatic states of the middle east and us imperialists in the west.

    mind you after seeing "midnight express" all those years ago i think that i would prefer to give their prisons a miss.

    they seem to have a problem with human rights, i must admit i have no problem with them dealing some kurdish factions in a rather basic way, i seem to remember we had a pop at the kurds back in the thirties.
