I am not comfortable myself with the prospect of fewer MP's. This is part of that awful drift towards regionalisation. You see it on the news programmes on TV, when we here in Dover have to look at stories concerning Brighton every other day. It a pretty miserable experience trying to show concern for the various plights of those living in Brighton when we have our own problems here and we want to see these covered on TV News.We want a voice.
We wouldnt for example want an MP with too wide a remit. We want a person that sympathises with our problems, we dont want to be overshadowed by other more prosperous towns who could push us out of the pecking order. This could happen if an MP had too far a field to cover. Im probably exagerating my case here to make the point but you get my drift
