90%+ of my customers are women (men tend not to buy too much fabric, you know!) and a goodly number of them have become friends over the years. I'm fairly certain that Michelle has no problems with me spending ages chatting to women on the phone or at shows. Being honest, it really helps my sales if I flirt with them a bit, but it's all part of my business and Michelle knows that there are very few women that would have me!

I have a couple of really close female friends to whom I'm devoted, but ours is a strong marriage and I'm still madly in love with my wife after 17 years of being manacled together. I think it boils down to trust in the end. Michelle's surrounded by men all day and me by women when I'm doing public shows and quilting groups. So, Melissa, I think men and women can be friends - but on a different playing field to same sex friendships.
