TRUE STORY:
Outside Bristol Zoo there is a car park for 150 cars and 8 coaches.
There also used to be a very pleasant attendant with a ticket machine charging cars £1 and coaches £5.
This parking attendant worked there for all of 25 years , then one day just didn't turn up for work...
"Ho hum", said Bristol Zoo Management - "better phone up the City Council and get them to send a new parking attendant" ......
"Err no", said the Council, "that car park is your responsibility" ....
"Er no", said Bristol Zoo Management, "the attendant was employed by the City Council, wasn't he?" .....
"Err NO!" Said the council !!!!!!!!!!!
Living in Spain is a bloke who had been taking daily the car park fees amounting to an estimated £400 per day at Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years...

That is a great story, that's what you call 'Business Entrepreneurism' to think that he was able to run the scam for 25 years!

Wow!! well that is funny GaryC. I dont know but that guy, if he was a bit younger, would delight Sir Alan Sugar on that programme The Apprentice. The ones currently in the show couldnt manage anything like the initiative this guy pulled off. Very much the same way Sugar himself started..not doing anything illegal I hasten to add, but just the daring do of sheer financial wizardry.
happens regularly in other parts of the world - in spain there is a car park controlled by two or three lads who make a mint in the summer - but dont try and complain.......
Apparently they tell the police that they are just helping people get parked.
Of course in other parts of the world they arent so open and honest as our public officials.

amazing what you can get away with if you have the front.
i remember a long time back, it was spotted that the same man was in the winners enclosure at aintree for the grand national every year, for more than ten years.
they eventually tracked him down, he had managed to get in to the cup final each year without a ticket and a royal garden party.
he refused to say how he did it.

A bit like the NZ couple who upon discovering that their bank had over credited their account to the tune of NZ$10m, cleared out their account and disappeared
