  Roger the esteemed programme Top Gear not only poopoohs 70mph but encourages people to drive much faster by glorifying speed. This I imagine is the same principle that applies to stereo...mine is bigger than yours( and louder!)
  
  That programme rubbishes the humble Morris Minor churning out its 70mph and their whole approach is macho power based. No doubt they cover the stereo system too in their programmes. People with these stereos are not actually listening to the music but are glorifying in the little bit of half baked attention they get as they pass by.
