  Over here the Parishes recruit 'Specials' to help out its mainly retired people but they turn out in their droves to keep traffic moving,dishing out tickets to illegally parked cars (not much room on the roads or respect for inconsiderate parkers by most locals) and escort drunken teenagers either to a holding van and then home to face Mama and Papa. I witnessed this myself last week where a young girl and guy (17-19) were separated and taken home as they were both the worse for wear and were causing a slight nuisance..nothing serious but couldn't walk in a straight line .They were not abusive but along came two coppers aged about 70 and said enough was enough and politely took them off in different directions much to the pleasure and amusement of the trippers in the bus queue.A common sense no nonense approach.
