i had to laugh about that story in the news about the lady from ashford done for benefit fraud.
she was claiming as a single mother though she was living with her husband, claimed income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit whilst recieving maternity pay from her employer.
she was having a good time enjoying 3 holidays in turkey each year.
she honeymooned in barbados and that was her downfall.
the dopey mare put all the photos on her facebook page!!
the days of the benefit faudster have been numbered for some time, computer records can be shared by goverment departments.
in the case highlighted the tax people would have known about her maternity allowance. i get the impression that snoopers got wind of her scam then looked on the social networking sites, amazing what people tell the world on there.
you posted that some time back jeane, chances are the systems are even better now.
the main problem now is people entering the country to work and get up to mischief with benefits, they would be gone very quickly once they get the court summons.
True Howard. When I was there many of the computer systems didn't 'talk to each other'. We had to be slightly more devious. People often posted things on the social networks that started springing up then!
