I love cherries and this is the big month for them. I bought some in Tesco yesterday but was disappointed to find they weren't English and they were very sharp.
However on my way back from Canterbury yesterday teatime I saw a sign on the A2 saying "Local cherries" pointing to the layby by the Halfway - just past the bikers cafe. Sure enough a couple had a stall selling their own home grown cherries for literally half the price I had paid earlier and they are gorgeous! They told me they'll be there for about 5 weeks so if anyone wants some I can recommend them from that stall. Nice to buy something grown locally and support local people.
