A Chinook passed low over Victoria Park this afternoon then flew over the centre of Dover and round behind the Western Heights. Shortly afterwards it returned, flying past the end of Vicky Park when I was able to get the snap below. Stooging about on a jolly?
It is very frustrating hearing a plane go overhead and rushing to the window to see it is already a tiny dot in the distance. Particularly so with jet fighters flying low along the line of the harbour, by the time you hear the roar they have gone. It never fails to amaze me that man can have invented something that someone can sit in and throw around the sky at two or three times the speed of sound.
An earlier flypast over Victoria Park. Looks like early post WW1, similar to a Vickers Vimy.
