Thanks for all your kind thoughts, everyone. The operation went well - into theatre at 08.55, out again by 09.15, home by 11.00! Remarkably, I've had no pain at all, not even when the local anaesthetic needle was inserted, and the pain killers I'm on seem to be doing a grand job.
Can't drive or walk the dog for 10 days, so stuck in front of the computer catching up on work. Honest.
