Christmas at Riverside

  I did manage to pop into see the elderly who attend Riverside enjoying the festive day ,When I arrived they had just been entertained by a group performing Music .The tables were all decorated and laid up in a traditional manner .The volunteer cooks were busy in the kitchen ,Ken had an apron on and a Father Christmas Hat .I might add he did have other clothes on as well .Not that kind of party .Everyone was having a good time .I helped a few people who clutching glass of sherry in one hand were holding on to their walking frames .I did say drink driving was not aloud Buddy G was preparing to entertain them .
  
  In all it was a pleasure to see so many happy faces .A big thank you is worthy to all who gave their time .The spirit of christmas

  Thank you for that Sue,they do work well down and a very nice place to go to.have a chat,meal or read,and even have P.C.s down there,we will be going more in the new year after my knee is done,Lesley can take me in the morning and I will stay there all day.

  It was a pleasure to appear for the folks at Riverside, it has a warm community spirit that shines through, everyone so friendly and up for a laugh, especially with the sherry flowing.
  
  Was good to finally meet you Sue.
  
  Thank you to Ken and his tireless team who worked their combined sox off providing a seemingly endless stream of quality dinners to the folks.
  
  Thank you also to the chaps and chapettes who got into the spirit of it all and danced to the music.
  
  Hope to see you all again sometime soon.
  Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........

  Hadn't realised this thread had been started so posted my heartfelt thanks on another thread. Such was the immense pleasure and amazing performance of Buddy G we have been asked to put on a rocknroll evening in the near future(we will pay him this time).

  A performance went down well at The Churchill a couple of years ago (despite the rain).

  Again we both have been in there today,you always get a good wecome when you get there and today we was made wecome by no less then Mr Ken Tranner,we had along talk about the times we were both on the Town council.And also a talk on U.K.I.P and what could happen in a few weeks time.
  I have told my wife when I come out of hos/they can take me down there in the bus and back home at night they have a p.c. which I can use and lots of games to play and the papers to read each day and I can tell you that is has been a very long time that I have done that. Can have my dinner to there,looking forward to it.

  the food down there is top class vic, kens wife karen is a dover icon.
  the place is a shangri la for our older citizens, there is even a bus shuttle service as you say.

  Im pleased to see the publicity for Age Concern on here .What we do need is a few more volunteers .We are a business and have to work within budgets .There is a charge for the bus The donations and money raised by our shop helps with the extras .Currently we are looking to replace the carpet in the lounge area
  
  Dont forget the jigsaw corner Vic ,the art classes .sewing bee .A lot going on .You not a senior citizen than Howard .We are pleased to welcome the young sixties ??
