07:428586Jean and I bought a couple of those cakes and they are very, very good and great value too and of course the proceeds go to local charities - so important at this time of year.
I'd recommend them to any one and they also have diabetic/non-sugar ones too.

17:019492I bought a slimming cake there last week and have eaten it all but dont feel very thinner!
Linda is now starting her christmas puddings for all, from the old family receipe. I darent buy the christmas cake as we now have a kitchen full of ingredients. This year I have got hold of some old thrupenny bits ( not those Paul) the silver ones so the puddings become even more dangerous.

17:339493My fruit & nut was (& still is) a very nice cake but I was disappointed to see it'd come all the way from Lincoln!
Surely a retailer can be found a little closer to home?

22:199509Aww Howard - was that aimed at me? I did apologise to you before.
And by the way - I did wave to you at the bus stop this afternoon - did you not see me or have you got the hump with me?
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

22:419511Jeanette, I imagine that the bakers in Lincoln is making them for more than just ourt local Lions Club
Certainly the cakes are very good and very reasonably priced, one has to wonder how the baker makes money, particularly as the Lions make money out of them as well.

23:409512Jeanette,Ross is absolutly correct, one year when we were having problems with the supplier we looked into having our own cakes done, the problem was cost and as Ross said the baker makes them for Lions club around the Country, and they are such good quality and a good price.
The good thing is that the Lions do spend alot of money locally helping local people,so it is worth importing them.
Still if you have all bought one by another for a friend,or friends,or just eat another one.

00:149514John if you want cakes locally just chip in and get Sheila Amos a bigger oven. You know she could do it.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
